Celebrations

Thirty-one Uintah High FFA chapter members attended the Utah FFA Association State Convention in Logan last week along with more than 2,000 other FFA members from around the state. Uintah’s FFA chapter was one of less than a dozen Utah chapters to earn the Five Star Chapter Award. Chapter advisor David Wilson was also presented with the Utah FFA Association's Distinguished Service Award.

The chapter’s successes didn’t end there. Following a challenging application process and rigorous rounds of interviews and speeches, Uintah FFA President Aysia Massey was selected as the 2023-24 Utah FFA Association State Reporter. She will travel around Utah and to other states throughout the coming year representing Utah FFA.

The Uintah FFA Conduct of Chapter Meetings team placed second at state in a very competitive contest. The team members are Garrett Speir, Kade Richens, Genny Lee Huber, Braxton Foote, Holden Thomas, Hadleigh Wall and Terilyn Williams.

Emerson Hackford placed third in Prepared Public Speaking in a very competitive event. Kaylee Jo Huber represented Uintah FFA in the Employment Skills Leadership Development event, making the finals. Hadlie Horrocks earned first place in the Utah FFA Goat Production Proficiency competition.

Quinton McKee, Emerson Hackford, Jesse Aguilar, Houston Harrison, Blake Holmes, Jodie Speir, Hadlie Horrocks, Kamlyn Williams, and Audie Christensen earned the State FFA Degree. This is the second highest degree that can be earned in FFA and is earned by less than 2 percent of all FFA members. Earning this degree required accurate, consistent record-keeping, as well as tremendous dedication and involvement in FFA. Degree recipients are recognized for their efforts in going above and beyond with their Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program, FFA leadership, and academics.

Congratulations Uintah FFA!
