Glowing Artwork at Discovery Elementary
Students in Jill Hatch's art class at Discovery Elementary recently completed one of their favorite projects of the year. The students in grades 1 through 5 used fluorescent paint and neon oil pastels to create images of rainforest animals. The artwork glows under black lights, which Hatch has strung around her classroom, creating an effect that the kids and staff at Discovery love. Photos of Hatch’s glowing classroom can be found on the district’s Facebook page.

Food Drive Continues at Lapoint Elementary
With one week left to go, the Lapoint Elementary Wolves are putting up big numbers in the Lapoint Community Food Drive. They’ve collected nearly 3,200 donated food items. The kindergartners have the highest average of donated items at 38 items per student, while the second graders continue to lead the overall grade total with nearly 900 items collected. The Lapoint Community Food Drive runs through the end of the month when all donations will be delivered to the local food pantry to help area families. Great work, Wolves!
