Uintah Middle School has collected about 2,000 pairs of donated shoes as of this morning, putting them a quarter of the way to their goal of collecting 8,000 pairs by next Friday. The shoe drive is a global act of kindness organized by Think Kindness, a nonprofit whose founder held an assembly at UMS last month. The donated shoes will go to Tanzania, where they will be given to children and teens in need.

Gov. Spencer Cox signed HB294 into law this week. The law lifts the statewide public mask mandate by April 10, except for gatherings of 50 or more people in locations where physical distancing is not possible. The law also keeps the state’s K-12 school mask mandate in effect until July 1.
