This is the image for the news article titled Weekly District Update - Nov. 19, 2021One trimester down, two to go!

Second trimester classes start Monday. There will be no school Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday for the Thanksgiving Break. No school meals, including curbside meals, will be served during the break.

This past Monday, the district published the full results of the Secondary Schedule Survey on its website. You can find those results HERE. During its Nov. 10 meeting, the Uintah School Board voted unanimously to keep the high school on its current five-class trimester schedule. This 5-0 vote was based largely on the survey respondents’ overwhelming support for the five-class trimester schedule.

This year's Friday schedule has given USD schools more opportunities to offer interventions and extensions that enrich the content taught during the rest of the week. This week, Maeser Elementary shared photos of some of their highly engaging Friday activities. So far this year the Maeser Cubs have dissected eyeballs, worked with a team to build volcanos, made pinch pots, used playdough to create numbers, participated in a farmer’s market, and enjoyed many other educational experiences.

You can read more HERE and find photos of some of the activities HERE.

Naples Elementary also posted some photos from one of their recent Friday activities on the school's Facebook page. You can find those photos HERE.

Finally, congratulations to the 13 Uintah High students who have been selected as the school's 2021-2022 Sterling Scholars. They are Scotlyn Williams (Agricultural Science); Sydney Migliori (Business and Marketing); Thomas Driggs (Computer Technology); Ashlyn Meier (Dance); Marcy Reynolds (English); Brinley Jones (Family and Consumer Sciences); Kelsey Alexander (General Scholarship); Laura Anderson (Instrumental Music); Randon Davis (Mathematics); Caleb McKee (Science); Johnathan Porter (Social Science); Lyndee Johnson (Visual Arts); and Jeffery Langley (World Languages).

These students will represent Uintah High in their respective disciplines at the Northeast Region Sterling Scholar Competition in the spring.
