The teachers of the year for 2020-2021 from the district's schools are Niccole Aylsworth (Central Education Center); Meghan Lemon (Ashley Elementary); Ashley Gardiner (Davis Elementary); Inmaculada Garcia-Madrid (Discovery Elementary); Taija Jackson (Eagle View Elementary); Kayleen McKeachnie (Maeser Elementary); Helen Stewart (Naples Elementary); Colleen Stewart (Uintah Middle School); Kimberly Hawks (Vernal Middle School); and Kristen Baumgarten (Uintah High School).

Lapoint Elementary and Ashley Valley Education Center did not select a teacher of the year, opting instead to celebrate the outstanding contributions of all their teachers this year.

The classified employees of the year for 2020-2021 from the district's schools and departments are Frandee Felton (Central Education Center); Wendy Girot (Ashley Elementary); Jennifer Schear (Davis Elementary); Sarah Fluckiger (Discovery Elementary); Tiffany Larsen (Eagle View Elementary); Charlie Poulsen (Lapoint Elementary); Katie Ufford (Maeser Elementary); Laura Ainge (Naples Elementary); Emily Christiansen (Uintah Middle School); Darin Anderson (Vernal Middle School); Jodi Ryan (Uintah High School); and Georgene Scott (Transportation Department).

Ashley Valley Education Center did not select a classified employee of the year, opting instead to celebrate the outstanding contributions of all its classified employees this year.

The district will announce its Teacher of the Year and Classified Employee of the Year in April.

Congratulations to Uintah High senior Landon Jones, who took 6th at the state swim meet last weekend in the 200-meter freestyle. Landon was the only Uintah High swimmer to finish on the podium at state. Uintah’s boys team placed 16th overall in the state. The girls team placed 18th overall.

Finally, good luck to the Uintah High boys and girls wrestling teams as they compete at the 4A state tournament Saturday in Richfield. Go Utes!
