On Friday, March 4, Uintah School District will return to the Friday schedule adopted by the Uintah School Board for the 2021-2022 school year.
Under the board-adopted schedule, virtual learning is the district's primary instructional program on Fridays. Starting March 4, the district will resume the two-hour in-person learning block where students have the opportunity for remediation and/or enrichment depending on their learning needs.
In late January, the district moved all Friday learning online due to the prevalence of COVID-19 in its schools and in the community. Data now shows a decrease in parent excused absences for students due to illness. The number of school staff calling in sick has also declined while the availability of substitutes has increased.
Given these changes, students who wish to come to school on Fridays under the original schedule adopted for the 2021-22 school year can do so starting March 4. Students still have the option to complete their Friday work online.
Principals will send more specific details to families about their school's return of the Friday two-hour in-person learning block, including reminders about Friday bus schedules.
