This is the image for the news article titled Weekly District Update - Dec. 4, 2021The Uintah High School Marching Band and Uintah High School Orchestra flew to Hawaii this week to begin final preparations for their performance in the 2021 Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade on Tuesday, Dec. 7.

This year’s parade will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, following Kalakaua Avenue to Kapiolani Park in Waikiki. Its goal is to unite generations in a meaningful event that honors WWII veterans and Pearl Harbor survivors, while educating and inspiring the young Americans who will join together to salute them.

The parade is scheduled to begin Tuesday at 9 p.m. MT. The marching band and orchestra are 62nd in the parade line up. To watch a live stream, visit https://www.pearlharborparade.org/home.

The Uintah School Board will meet Wednesday, Dec. 8, in the boardroom at the Uintah School District office in Naples. The board will hold a special work session beginning at 3 p.m. to discuss redistricting of voting districts. The board’s regular work session is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., with the business meeting to follow at 6 p.m.

Uintah High School Agricultural Sciences students have beautiful poinsettias ready to go for the holiday season. They will be selling them out of the greenhouse behind Uintah High on Monday, Dec. 6, from 3- 4 p.m. They have red, white, pink, and mixed color plants with sizes ranging from single stems in a 6-inch pot, to four stems in a 10-inch pot. Prices range from $8 to $20. The students will have more sale dates soon and are also available to sell by appointment. Contact David Wilson ([email protected]) for more information.
