This is the image for the news article titled UHS to hold classes online TuesdayUintah Schools Superintendent Rick Woodford has decided that Tuesday, Dec. 22, will be an online learning day for students and staff at Uintah High School. The superintendent made his decision after consulting with the Uintah School Board, the TriCounty Health Department and Uintah High Principal Sharon Shipton.

Uintah High has reported 10 new cases of COVID-19 between Friday afternoon and Monday afternoon, bringing its total active case count to 19 cases in the past 14 days. State health officials define a school outbreak as 15 confirmed cases in a 14-day period. When that threshold is reached, it is recommended that a school move to online learning for two weeks.

All Uintah High students should take their Chromebooks home with them today. Uintah High students will not come to school in person on Tuesday. Instead, they will follow the same online learning and attendance procedures established by the district for Fridays.

Breakfast and lunch will not be served Tuesday at the high school.

All other schools in the district will hold in-person classes on Tuesday following the district’s Minimum Day schedule (https://www.uintah.net/district_information/district_calendars/minimum_day_schedules).

Christmas Break begins Wednesday. In-person classes are expected to resume for all Uintah School District schools on Monday, Jan. 4.
