The Uintah School Board will hold regularly scheduled meetings on Wednesday, Nov. 11, at Eagle View Elementary School. The board’s work session will begin at 3:30 p.m., the annual Impact Aid meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m., and the business meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Board members will take public comment on the proposed closure of Uintah Middle School and the reconfiguration of elementary and middle schools during the business meeting.

Securly Home Available for Parents, Guardians
Parents and guardians of Uintah School District students can still download the Securly Home app and create an account using the same email address they use to access their student’s Aspire account. The district has used Securly to monitor students’ online activity on district-owned devices for the past three years. As outlined in device-use agreements signed during registration, all online activity on district devices is monitored for student safety. Securly Home extends this capability as an option for parents and guardians.
Parents and guardians who enroll can use Securly Home to:
View online activity on the student’s district-owned device, including recent web searches, sites visited, and videos watched
Turn internet access to the device off and on to easily manage time spent online.
Receive notifications when online activity is flagged for potential bullying, self-harm, or other concerning content.
Set up weekly email reports for a snapshot of their student’s online activity.
The app offers multi-language support and defaults to the language set on the user’s device.
Securly Home enrollment is optional. Parents and guardians who prefer not to use the app can decline without any impact on their student’s device access or district services. The monitoring applies only to district-owned devices; personal devices are not affected.
For questions about Securly Home or technical support, contact the Uintah School District Technology Helpline at 435-781-3111.
UMS to Host ‘Rooted in Community’
Uintah Middle School invites families to “Rooted in Community: Growing Connections, Building Community” at the school on Monday, Nov. 9, at 5:30 p.m. The evening features Braxten Nielsen, a motivational speaker and professional rodeo cowboy who — after a life-changing spinal cord injury — learned to face challenges with determination and a positive attitude. His message is simple: You don’t have to be perfect; just try to become 1% better every day. Families can also connect with local organizations, including the Uintah Rec Center, USU Extension, Ashley Valley Education Center, Uintah Basin Healthcare, TriCounty Health Department, and the Uintah County Library, to discover resources and opportunities. All attendees will be entered into a drawing for family fun baskets and a grand prize of an annual family pass to the rec center. For more information, call 435-781-3130 or visit https://wewereborntosucceed.weebly.com/.
