The Uintah School Board will hold a regularly scheduled work session and business meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at the district office in Naples. The work session is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m., with the business meeting to follow at 6 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Agendas for the work session and business meeting can be found on the district website. The district intends to stream the work session and business meeting on its YouTube channel. Individuals who would like to submit online comments for the board’s consideration can do so HERE.

Paying for School Meals

The Uintah School District hasn’t changed the online system for paying for school meals or checking student account balances. The website for these services can be found HERE.

This site is separate from the service the district now uses for the online payment of school fees.

If you do not wish to make payments for school meals online, you can still put money on your student’s account in-person at their school or at the Foods Department, located at 223 S. 100 West in Vernal.

Miss UHS Valentine’s Round Dance

Miss Uintah High Native American Princess Hayzel Tapoof is hosting a Valentine’s Round Dance tonight, Feb. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Main Gym at UHS. This FREE event will feature open social dancing, a side-step showdown, a two-step competition, vendors, food and prizes. The community is invited to attend.

High School Readiness Night

Yes, 8th graders, it’s already time to start getting ready for high school! All 8th graders and their parents/guardians are invited to a FREE informational presentation about next year’s move to high school. The event is scheduled for Monday, Feb. 9, at Vernal Middle School. Get important information from school counselors and explore resources to help your 8th grader succeed as a freshman.

No School Feb. 13 & Feb. 16

There is NO SCHOOL on Friday, Feb. 13. It is a Parent-Teacher Conference Trade Day. The district office and other non-school offices will be open.

There is also NO SCHOOL on Monday, Feb. 16, in observance of Presidents’ Day. All district offices will be closed. Classes will resume as regular, and district offices will reopen on Tuesday, Feb. 17,

UHS 9th Annual Jazz Dinner

Tickets are on sale now for the 9th Annual Jazz Dinner, featuring music by Uintah High’s jazz band, Pandemonium. Frozen Tickets on Sale

Tickets for the Uintah High Theatre production of Frozen: The Musical are on sale now at uintah.ludus.com. The musical is an adaption of the Disney animated hit and features Princess Elsa, Princess Anna, Kristoff, Sven, Olaf and all the other fan favorites. Performances are set for March 6-7, 9-10, and 12-4. There will be a matinee performance on March 7 that will include ASL interpreters, as well as an evening performance that night. Show times for all evening performances is 7 p.m. Tickets for this show are expected to go fast, so get yours today! 

Weekend Events

The Uintah High Boys Basketball Team is on the road today, playing at Summit Academy High in Bluffdale. The Utes and Bears are scheduled to play at 3:45 p.m. (JV), 5:15 p.m. (freshmen), and 7 p.m. (varsity). The varsity game will be streamed live on the Summit Academy High Hudl Fan website.
