The Uintah School Board will hold a regularly scheduled work session and business meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the district office in Naples. The work session is scheduled to start at 4 p.m., with the business meeting to follow at 6 p.m.

Agendas for both meetings will be posted at https://uintah.community.highbond.com/Portal/. The district intends to stream the work session and business meeting on its YouTube channel. Individuals who want to submit online comments for the board’s consideration can do so at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/XNKG63Y.

Frozen Tickets on Sale

Tickets for the Uintah High Theatre production of Frozen: The Musical are on sale now at uintah.ludus.com. The musical is an adaption of the Disney animated hit and features Princess Elsa, Princess Anna, Kristoff, Sven, Olaf and all the other fan favorites. Performances are set for March 6-7, 9-10, and 12-4. There will be a matinee performance on March 7 that will include ASL interpreters, as well as an evening performance that night. Show times for all evening performances is 7 p.m. Tickets for this show are expected to go fast, so get yours today!

Weekend Events

The 54th Annual Tournament of Champions kicks off today with wrestlers from more than 30 teams competing at Western Park in Vernal. Doors open for fans on today at 11 a.m. with matches scheduled to start at noon.

Tomorrow, doors open for fans at 8:30 a.m. with matches scheduled to start at 9:30 a.m. Semifinal matches are scheduled to get underway at 10:30 a.m., with the finals slated to begin at 4:45 p.m.

The Uintah High Swim Team hosts the Orem High Tigers and Union High Cougars for a meet today at the Uintah Rec Center in Vernal. Races are scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.

The Uintah High Cheer and Stunt Team competes today at UHSAA Divisionals at Western Sports Park in Farmington. The Utes, who have already qualified for Nationals in Anaheim, California, are scheduled to perform at 2:15 p.m. (Coed Show), 2:36 p.m. (Coed Cheer), and 3:28 p.m. (Coed Dance).

The Uintah High Girls Basketball and Uintah High Boys Basketball teams are headed to Orem today to play region games against the Timpanogos High Timberwolves. The girls play at 3:30 p.m. (JV) and 5:15 p.m. (varsity). The boys play 3:45 p.m. (JV), 5:15 p.m. (sophomores), and 7 p.m. (varsity). The livestream for games can be found on the Timpanogos High Hudl Fan website.

The Uintah U’ettes compete in the Royal Classic at Roy High School this weekend. The solo competition is scheduled for today. During tomorrow’s team competition, the U’ettes are scheduled to take the floor at 8:03 a.m. (Pom), 8:51 a.m. (Military), 10:17 a.m. (Dance), and 11:21 a.m. (Show).
