Weekly District Update graphic

The Uintah School Board held its regularly scheduled work session and business meeting on Wednesday at the district office in Naples. Video of the meeting can be found on the

district’s YouTube channel.

Superintendent Dr. Rick Woodford presented at plaque to Davis Elementary Principal Cris Labrum and her staff during the Celebrations portion of the board’s business meeting. The plaque recognizes the work Davis Elementary did during the 2024-2025 school year to earn i-Ready Super Stretch School status in mathematics.

The Dragons are one of only 84 schools in the nation to accomplish this achievement and the only school in Utah. The award is based on i-Ready Diagnostic data from the 2024-2025 school year, which showed that 57% of Davis students achieved their Stretch Growth Goals.

Super Stretch Schools are schools with 200 or more students that had 55 percent or more of students meet Stretch Growth goals. Stretch Growth marks the amount of growth a student should target to enter the path to attaining grade-level proficiency. It puts students who placed below grade level on their first diagnostic on a path to proficiency, and it helps students who placed on or above grade level maintain advanced proficiency levels.

The board also celebrated the district’s students of the month during its business meeting. The students of the month for September are: Blake Gudac (Central Cove Early Learning Center); Stokley Johnson (Ashley Elementary); Oaklee Perry (Davis Elementary); Knox Hutcheon (Discovery Elementary); Nevaeh LaRose-Zaragoza (Eagle View Elementary); Quatrini Maile (Lapoint Elementary); Delci Davis (Maeser Elementary); Jackson Brown (Naples Elementary); Colton Davis (Uintah Middle School); Elise O'Neil (Vernal Middle School); Quincie Kemp (Uintah High School); and Braxton Lammert (Ashley Valley Education Center/Uintah Online).

Congratulations to these outstanding students and thanks to everyone who supports them!
