The Uintah School District is pleased to announce that Mallory Hoffart has been chosen as the new principal of Maeser Elementary School, pending approval by the Uintah School Board.

Hoffart brings a wealth of classroom experience and instructional leadership to the role, along with a deep passion for student success and educator collaboration.

Superintendent Dr. Rick Woodford praised outgoing Maeser Principal Denise Williams, who will lead Vernal Middle School next school year, and expressed his confidence in Hoffart’s leadership.

“Denise Williams leaves Maeser with strong systems and processes in place along with a staff that is loaded with excellent teachers and support staff,” Woodford said.

“Mallory will bring her own unique vision of teaching and learning to the school" he said. "She has an advanced understanding of early literacy and a strong belief that all students can be proficient in reading by the end of third grade.”

Woodford noted that Hoffart has been a high-performing teacher and instructional coach and will continue to see success as a principal.

“I’m honored to serve as the next principal of Maeser Elementary,” Hoffart said. “I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join a school with such a strong culture of academic excellence and deep commitment to students."

Hoffart began her career in education in 2009, working as a substitute teacher for Pre-K through 8th grade. She then taught kindergarten in Pennsylvania until 2011, when she relocated to Vernal. She joined Uintah School District in 2012 and has served in a variety of roles including first and second grade teacher, as well as instructional coach. Most recently, Hoffart served as the instructional coach at Discovery Elementary School.

Hoffart holds a bachelor’s in Elementary Education from East Stroudsburg University and a master’s degree in Instructional Leadership from Utah State University. She also holds an Instructional Coaching endorsement, which has supported her work in helping educators implement research-based instructional strategies.

“Maeser’s educators consistently impress me with their focus on literacy, their collaboration, and their drive to do what’s best for kids,” Hoffart said. “I have great respect for the leadership Denise provided and the strong systems and relationships she helped build. I’m excited to continue that work and lead such a dedicated team.”
