Bus information for Fridays has been updated on the district website for Bus 54 (Lapoint Elementary), Bus 24 (Uintah Middle School/Uintah High School), and Bus 89 and Bus 98 (Vernal Middle School/Uintah High School). You can find Friday schedules for all buses on the Transportation page at
https://www.uintah.net/departments/transportation/friday_bus_schedules.
As a reminder, the posted times may vary based on the number of riders. Please arrive at your stop 5 minutes ahead of the posted time to ensure you don't miss the bus. Friday schedules for secondary buses show pickup and drop off times. Elementary school pick up times are the same on Friday as they are the rest of the week.
Uintah School District is looking to bolster its pool of substitute teachers. Currently the district only has about 60 active substitute teachers on its roster, after hiring at least 10 substitutes to fill various part-time and full-time positions this school year. The district would like to have more than 80 substitute teachers on its rolls to accommodate teachers who must miss work due to training, illness, or other reasons.

The Lapoint Elementary School garden, planted and maintained by Utah State University Extension-Uintah County, has had another successful year of providing produce to those in need.
As of Sept. 20, the garden had donated 900 pounds of produce to the Ashley Valley Food Pantry and 200 pounds of produce to those in need in the Lapoint community. "This year we planted corn, pumpkins, summer squash, cucumbers, tomatoes, bell peppers, onions, and jalapenos, as well as an herb garden," said USU Extension Create Better Health Ambassador Cara Murray.

Finally, congratulations to the boy's cross-country teams from Vernal Middle School and Uintah Middle School, and the girl's cross-country team from Vernal Middle School on their solid performances at the Carbon Invitational this past week. The VMS boys team finished 1st overall and the UMS boys team finished in 2nd place. The VMS girls team finished their race in 3rd place overall. Outstanding work!
