During the business meeting, the board celebrated the district Students of the Month from each school. Uintah High Homecoming
The Uintah High School Homecoming Parade is Friday, Sept. 20, starting at 1:30 p.m. The parade route will follow US-40 from 700 West to 500 East.
The Utes will host the Mountain View Bruins that night for the Homecoming football game at Coach Belcher Stadium. Tailgating begins at 5:15 p.m. in the stadium parking lot. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at
gofan.co or at the gate, where cash will be accepted.
The Homecoming Dance is Saturday, Sept. 21. UHS students need to purchase tickets in advance from the school Finance Office. No tickets will be sold at the door. UHS students who want to bring a non-UHS student to the dance need a signed guest form. The guest form is available in the school's Main Office.
Substitute Teacher Training
Uintah Basin Technical College (UBTech) is offering substitute teacher training for $16 per course. All courses are being held at the Vernal UBTech campus in the conference room from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted.
The next Basic Substitute Course is being offered on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The next Certified Substitute Course is being offered on Friday, Oct. 4. Seats are still available in both classes. Tickets on Sale for Hadestown: Teen Edition
Tickets are on sale now for the Uintah High Theatre production of Hadestown: Teen Edition. Hadestown is still on Broadway and just marked its five-year anniversary there. It’s rare for a Broadway show to release licensing rights this soon. This beautiful show is sure to be a new favorite for many who see it, according to Uintah High Theatre director Chris Piner.
Hadestown: Teen Edition intertwines two mythic tales — that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of King Hades and Queen Persephone — as it invites audiences on an unforgettable journey to the underworld and back. The Uintah High Volleyball Team plays the San Juan High Broncos today in Blanding. Sophomores play at 2 p.m., JV plays at 3:30 p.m., and varsity plays at 5 p.m. The Utes take on the Grand County High Devils in Moab on Saturday. Sophomores play at 10 a.m., JV plays at 11:30 a.m., and varsity plays at 1 p.m.
The Uintah High Cross Country Team competes on Saturday at the Border Wars XC Invitational at Valley Regional Park in Taylorsville. Races start at 9 a.m.
