Ashley Explorers Help Classmate

During the week of Sept. 19-23, Ashley Elementary School held a fundraiser for a family who lost their house in a fire on Sept. 17. One of the children in the family attends Ashley Elementary. Several of the student's siblings have attended the school over the years as well. The school raised $2,849.79 for the family, with Mr. Daniel McKenna’s class raising the most, $446.33. The student impacted by the fire is in Mr. McKenna’s class and the student's classmates wanted to show their love and support.

The Explorers also wore blue T-shirts on Monday as part of STOMP Out Bullying’s #BlueUp campaign to stop bullying. Last week, 4th and 5th grade students at Ashley were given a blue shirt, which they covered in writing with positive affirmations about themselves and wore for Monday’s event. Great job, Explorers!

Congratulations to Uintah High alum Candace Workman! On Monday night, she will be inducted into the Brunson Utah Wrestling Hall of Fame during a banquet at Utah Valley University. Workman, who works for the district as an assistant wrestling coach and substitute teacher, has seen success on the mat at the high school, collegiate and international level. Her bio can be found HERE.
