This is the image for the news article titled Weekly District Update - Oct. 8, 2021Uintah School District will hold a ribbon cutting and open house from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, at the district office, located at 826 S. 1500 East in Naples. The Vernal Area Chamber of Commerce Dinah-Mites will be on hand for a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to celebrate the district’s move to its new offices. A light lunch will be provided. Come join the celebration and see the new district office.

The Uintah School Board will meet Wednesday, Oct. 13, at Eagle View Elementary School. The board work session will begin at 3:30 p.m. followed by the semi-annual Impact Aid meeting at 5:30 p.m. and the business meeting at 7 p.m. The agenda for the work session can be found HERE. There is no school on Thursday, Oct. 14. It is a parent-teacher conference trade day. There is also no school on Friday, Oct. 15, for Fall Break. Classes resume Monday, Oct. 18; however, there will be no face-to-face instruction option for K-8 students on Friday, Oct. 22. All K-8 students will attend classes remotely that day. There is no change to the high school's Friday schedule for Oct. 22.

Tonight is Senior Night for the Uintah High football program. The U'ettes and Uintah High cheerleaders will perform at 6:20 p.m. on the field at Coach Belcher Stadium. The football team will honor its seniors at 6:30 p.m. Then the Utes take on the Hillcrest Huskies in the final home game of the regular season. Tickets for the game are available online HERE. UHS students with a valid activity card and fans 65 and older get in free. Go Utes!

Finally, congratulations to Uintah High School library media specialist Machelle Maxwell on being chosen for the Utah Teacher Fellows Program following a rigorous and competitive selection process. The program gives experienced education professionals the opportunity to engage with their peers and submit teacher-led solutions to the Utah State Board of Education to inform policy and practice. Great job, Mrs. Maxwell!
