On June 16, the Uintah School Board approved the district's Friday School Plan, and it was subsequently posted on the homepage of the district's website. The plan can be found
HERE.
The move away from a traditional 5-day, in-person school week is intended to provide the USD community (families and students) with more flexibility on Fridays while offering students in-person and virtual learning options, enrichment opportunities, and a system of support services tailored to their unique educational needs. Under this new learning model, students and their parents will have greater choice when it comes to education.
The district's schools will have their individual Friday plans posted on their respective websites by the end of the day on Friday, Aug. 13.
All Fridays on the district calendar that are not included in the list below will offer both in-person and virtual instruction for students.
There will be no in-person instruction for all students on Friday, Aug. 27, and Friday, Sept. 3. Virtual instruction will be provided both days for all students.
There will be no in-person or virtual instruction on the following Professional Development Days: Tuesday, Sept. 7; Friday, Nov. 19; and Monday, Feb. 28.
There will be no in-person instruction for K-5 students on Friday, Oct. 22, and Friday, Jan. 28. Virtual instruction will be provided both days for K-5 students. Students in Pre-K and grades 6-12 will still be able to attend school in-person or attend virtually on Oct. 22 and Jan. 28.
Expectations for student learning will increase as schools use data to inform instruction and provide opportunities for students to learn in meaningful ways. The district's Friday plan will be reviewed, and measurable student outcomes will be monitored as part of the District Improvement Plan.
If you have questions about the Friday plan for your child's school after their individual plan is posted, please contact the school during business hours.
