"Helps
for Parents"
Getting involved in your child’s education requires
a little time. But it’s been proven that your child
will do better in school. Listed are some helps
and ideas for you as a parent.
1. Read to and with your child every day.
2. Check homework every night.
3. Discuss your child’s progress with the teacher.
4. Vote in school board elections.
5. Help your school to set challenging academic
standards.
6. Limit TV viewing on school nights.
7. Become an advocate for better education in your
community and state.
8. It can be as simple as asking your child, “How
was school today?” and then talk about it.
