School Board Highlights

from the March 18, 2008 business meeting of the Uintah School District Board of Education

 

Maeser Elementary NWEA Report:  Principal Carol Parrish presented data from 2008 NWEA Winter growth for Maeser Elementary.

 

West-Side Boundaries:  A motion was made by Shane Frost that there will be no 7th & 8th grade Lapoint boundaries and no boundaries for 6th, 7th, & 8th Todd/West grades.  JoAnn Cowan seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of Policy 005.0690 District Uniforms(1st & 2nd Reading)  A motion was made by Shane Frost to approve Policy 005.0690 as presented on first and second reading.  Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of Policy 005.1500 Student Teaching:  (1st & 2nd Reading)  A motion was made by Shane Frost to approve Policy 005.1500 as presented on first and second reading.  JoAnn Cowan seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of Salary Lane Change Committee:  A motion was made by Shane Frost to approve the six names presented for the Salary Lane Change Committee.  Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of New Policy 003.0900 Parent and Family Involvement:  (1st & 2nd Reading) A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to approve Policy 003.0900 as presented on first and second reading.  Shane Frost seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of Audit Services:  A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to accept the recommendation to award the audit services on student membership, financial, fall enrollment and adult education to Wiggins & Company, PC (Sandy, UT).  Shane Frost seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously. 

 

Approval of Floor Plan for West-Side Elementary:  A motion was made by Shane Frost to approve the floor plan for the West-Side Elementary school, with the directive to include the alternate specifying concrete block in corridors and cafeteria.  Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.
