Recognition of Gregg Stensgard:  Gregg Stensgard, teacher at Uintah High School, just returned from Perm, Russia where he competed in the World Championship Wrestling.  He came back as the Bronze Medal Veteran World Champion in Greco Wrestling.  Gregg shared some of his experiences with members of the Board of Education and patrons present.  Congratulations Gregg.

 

Proposed New Policy 009.0400 Dietary Services for Children with Food Allergies and Other Special Dietary Needs:  (1^st Reading)  A motion was made by Shane Frost to table approval of Policy 009.0400 until Risk Management has had an opportunity to review the policy.  Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Creation of Educator Evaluation Committee:  A motion was made by Shane Frost to approve the recommendation to appoint 3 teachers, 3 parents, and 3 administrators to the Uintah School District Educator Evaluation Committee.  Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

A motion was made by Scott Ruppe to approve the appointment of Gina Wiseman, Pennie Jackson, and KayLynn Barton to serve as the parent representatives on the Uintah School District Educator Evaluation Committee.  Perry Taylor seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

A motion was made by Perry Taylor to approve the appointment of Marianne Evans, Paulette Goodwin, and Ashley Dailey to serve as the teacher representatives on the Uintah School District Educator Evaluation Committee.  Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of Policy 007.0115 Student Enrollment Options:  (1^st & 2^nd Reading)  A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to approve Policy 007.0115 as presented on first and second reading.  Shane Frost seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Approval of Uintah School District Enrollment Options for 2009-2010 School Year:  A motion was made by Scott Ruppe, seconded by JoAnn Cowan, carrying unanimously, that the Uintah School District Board of Education declares all elementary schools closed to boundary change requests for the 09-10 school year due to the probable issue of redrawing the current elementary boundary lines. 

 

Approval of Use of Vernal Middle School Capital Outlay Funds:  A motion was made by Scott Ruppe to approve $23,700 of capital outlay funds which will be used to purchase furniture and cabinets for Vernal Middle School.  (These funds were carried over from the 2007-2008 fiscal year for Vernal Middle School).  JoAnn Cowan seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.
