Recognition of FFA Parliamentary Procedures Team:  The Uintah FFA Parliamentary Procedure Team competed at the Utah FFA Association State Convention and placed 3^rd in the State.  The Uintah FFA Chapter also received a Superior Chapter Award for its outstanding chapter activities and organization.

 

Approval of Benefits for Sub-Contract Bus Drivers:  A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to approve the request to continue for one more year medical benefits for newly hired contract 4 hour relief drivers.  Allen Huber seconded the motion; motion carried.

 

Approval of Revised School Trust Lands Plans:  A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to approve the revised 2009-2010 School Trust Lands Plans as presented.  Allen Huber seconded the motion; motion carried.

 

Approval of Text Book Adoption:  A motion was made by Allen Huber to approve the 2009-2010 elementary school textbook adoption in the area of science.  JoAnn Cowan seconded the motion; motion carried.

 

Approval of Rules for Grand Piano Usage:  A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to adopt the Grand Piano Protocol and Grand Piano Use Form for all pianos in the district.  Allen Huber seconded the motion; motion carried.

 

Approval of Tentative District Budget for 2009-2010:  A motion was made by Allen Huber, seconded by JoAnn Cowan, carrying unanimously, that the Uintah School District Board of Education approves the tentative budget for the 2009-2010 school year as follows:  Maintenance and Operation - $43,505,076; Student Activity Fund - $1,153,313; Non K-12 Programs - $2,786,309; Debt Service - $5,157,469; Capital Outlay (Including Construction Costs) - $26,115,600; School Foods Program - $2,638,800; Municipal Building Authority - $582,000; Flexible Spending - $5,500; for a total budget of $81,944,067.  The Board of Education has, at this point, made no decision regarding property tax rates.

 

Approval of Moon Lake Contract:  A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to approve the contract with Moon Lake Electric for services at Eagle View Elementary.  Allen Huber seconded the motion; motion carried.

 

Discussion on Usage of VMS Grounds:  A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to table the discussion of usage of VMS grounds.  Allen Huber seconded the motion. Those in favor:  JoAnn Cowan, and Allen Huber.  Those opposed:  Dr. Rodney Anderson and Scott Ruppe; motion failed.

 

Recognition of Student Board Member, Ross Watkins:  The Board of Education thanked Ross Watkins for his service as Student Board Member, and keeping the Board updated on Uintah High School happenings. 

 

Personnel:  Leave of Absence:  A motion was made by Allen Huber to approve the request for Leave of Absence for Marysa Rhodes.  JoAnn Cowan seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

 

Appointment of Personnel:  The following individuals were approved for appointment by the Uintah School District Board of Education:
