Recognition of Outstanding Employee – Pat
Bingham: Pat Bingham, School Nurse, was recognized and
thanked for her compassion and dedication to the students of

Elementary: Recently the State Office of Education
honored Ashley Elementary with the Utah Title I High Performing School
Award. Ashley was one of the 56 schools in
Approval of Uintah Schools Foundation Funding Request: A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to approve $10,000 from Capital Outlay for the Uintah Schools Foundation. Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.
Approval of 2009-2010 Vernal Elementary School
Boundaries: A motion was made by Dr.
Approval of New Policy 009.0500 The Sale of Food & Beverages in Schools: (2nd Reading) A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to approve Policy 009.0500 on second reading as presented with the noted corrections and changes. Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.
Age Restriction for Employment: Superintendent Charlie Nelson informed Board members that the age restriction for employment with Uintah School District is now as follows: Age 21 and above to work with secondary students, exception for Sweepers and Part-time Food Service Workers. Age 18 and above to work with elementary age students.
Approval of Eagle View Elementary Software Purchase: A motion was made by JoAnn Cowan to approve the request from Eagle View Elementary to purchase SuccessMaker software in the amount of $50,000. Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

Calendar: A motion was made by Scott Ruppe to approve
Calendar “A” for the 2009-2010 school year. Allen Huber seconded the
motion. Those in favor: Allen Huber, JoAnn Cowan, Scott Ruppe, and Perry
Taylor. Those opposed: Dr.
Approval of Special Education Policies & Procedures: A motion was made by Allen Huber to approve the Uintah School District Special Education Policies and Procedures as presented. Scott Ruppe seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.
