REPORTS

Report on Truancy Mediation:  Eighth District Court Trial Court Executive, Sherry K. Stettler, gave a report to the Uintah School District Board of Education on a truancy mediation program that was piloted last school year at Discovery Elementary, Vernal Middle School, Vernal Junior High School and Ashley Valley Education Center.  Truancy mediation is offered to families as an alternative to a referral to juvenile court for habitual truancy.  This program will again be used in the four schools throughout the 2001-2002 school year.

BUSINESS

Proposed Revisions of Policy 010.0000 Building, Facility, and Equipment: (First Reading)  A motion was made by Dr. James F. Allen to approve the proposed revisions to Policy 010.0000 on first reading, with expected verbiage changes and clarification to be made and presented during the second reading of the policy.  Michael McKee seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

Proposed New Policy 005.1015 Evaluation for Classified Personnel: (First Reading) A motion was made by Dr. James F. Allen to approve Policy 005.1015 on first reading, leaving the possibility open for other venues of par lateral evaluation, or other means of evaluation.  Michael McKee seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

Approval of Resolution to Admit Out-of-State Student as Resident:  A motion was made by Michael McKee to approve the application and resolution for the appointment of guardians, thus allowing residential status in Utah for a student to attend school in Uintah School District.  Dr. James F. Allen seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.

Approval of Request for Out-of-State Trip:  A motion was made by Michael McKee to approve the request from the Uintah High School Close Up Program to travel to Washington, D.C. on a United States Government study trip, November 3-10, 2001.  Dr. James F. Allen seconded the motion; motion carried unanimously.
