Uintah School District is pleased to announce the addition of a home school program to address the educational needs of families who wish to provide schooling opportunities for their children in their home. We have opened enrollment to service students in the following counties: Uintah, Daggett, Duchesne, and Carbon. Uintah School District is pleased to announce the appointments of Amy Farnsworth and Rebecca (Becky) Halverson as home school teachers for the upcoming 2008 school year. Both teachers have worked in settings where family education is a priority.
Parents who participate through Uintah School District must register their child for the following required subjects: math, language arts, social studies and science. Optional courses include art and alternative math (home school Saxon math). Alternative math can fulfill the math requirement. Students will also be required to participate in CRT assessments (Utah Core Required Testing).
Enrollment in Uintah School District K-8 Home School Program requires parents to meet state guidelines for attendance and hours of instruction as well as academic progress in each curricula area. In addition to providing curriculum and materials to support home education, Uintah School District will assign each student to a certified supervising teacher. This teacher will be a resource for parents and will track student attendance and progress. |
